Happy Anniversary!

Jeremiah and I have been married for four years today!  I can't believe how much time has passed.   Before Gideon was apart of our lives, I felt as if we were just married, a couple living and existing together.  But now, with Gideon we are a true family.   I don't want you to think that's negative or anything, I always loved my husband, but now that I see him as an amazing father I love him just that much more.  Before Gideon I would look at life, before and after marriage.  I would think of our future of travels, school, and just the two of us.  Gideon changed our world in a great way!  Now I look at life as before and after Gideon.  I think of our future as what we'll be doing with and for our son - no longer selfish - it's no longer about me or Jeremiah.   We get the question of when we'll have a sibling for Gideon, or when that might be.  And I'll be honest, sometimes I do get wrapped up into thinking about growing our family.  But when I look at Gideon all I can do is think - I need not worry about the future but enjoy the present for it's truly a gift.  Every toothless smile, every coo and awe, every poopy diaper should be cherished for it makes us smile.

Happy Anniversary Jeremiah!  I love you so much and can't wait to see what the next four or forty years does for us.  We are so blessed and lucky to have all that we do.  I know though all of hardship and strife we are only growing stronger as individuals and now as a family.   Thank you for always making me laugh and being silly.

Gideon and I enjoyed a nice 3.15 mile walk this morning.  He woke up a bit early, I think it was too chilly, and we had to go inside.  Jeremiah fed him his lunch bottle while I started on lunch for us.  I was thankful to be able to get groceries yesterday, my mom swung by to hangout with her favorite grandboy.   So, so far I'm sticking to my guns of wanting to cook a meal a day.

Lunch:  Breakfast burriots
One roll of sausage
6 eggs
4 ounces of cheedar cheese (sharp)
1/2 green bell pepper
1/2 tomatoe
Tortillas as necessary
(I also had some lettuce and salsa with mine, and I used the tomatoes, Jeremiah didn't want any)

Brown sausage in skillet, once there is a little grease/fat/oil add the finely chopped pepper (you could add more to taste).  Once the sausage is browned you can add the eggs (more if you would like).  After all is cooked, add the cheese and stir to melt.  Then serve on warm tortillas.

Calories:
I ate 1/4 of the mixture and used one tortilla shell with veggies for a total of 675 calories.    It was  very large portion of the burrito mixture, but it was our breakfast/lunch (and so yummy!).

Tonight for dinner Jeremiah and I are going to have dinner out!  I'm so excited.  <3

12.5 weeks old! GX is growing and changing!

I apologize for such a slow update.  Jeremiah and I have both been incredibly busy.  Just loving life!

Jeremiah = is still at his new job, Walgreens.  He seems to like it, for what's worth.  Monday (June 4th) he will start back up with college classes; meaning we are going to be busier than ever.

Megan = has been busy around the house, taking wedding pictures, being in a wedding, helping her mother, and throwing a baby shower.  Who said people with children can't do anything..... I have in fact been running around like a mad woman.

Gideon = still rolling over, sleeping through the night, holding objects, smiles all the time, and is talking better every day!  He's even working on a little chuckle.

On a very exciting note:  I GOT A JOB!!!  That's right.  I had an interview a week ago, they called me last Friday to inform that I will be teaching 7th grade math next year.  I am so very thrilled.  Now, the worry of finding job has surpassed, but now I worry about lesson plans, my room, and everything that comes with being a teacher.  But I am incredibly thrilled!  More changes to come this year for sure!

The past few weeks we have done the following:  worked on a chicken farm, built a raised strawberry bed covering, visited with friends, gone out to eat with family, and everything that Megan has done.

I am very much ready for this week to be over so I can be at home with my precious baby (who's getting to old too fast).

Gideon and I after my morning run.  Thank you Jeremiah for taking this!

Passed out!  Check out that belly, he likes his milk!    His shirt should say handsome!

Gideon likes to watch Jeremiah play video games.  I will have another "nerd" on my hands!  <3

Cousin Tackett came to visit while we worked on my mom's strawberry bed cover.  It took Tackett a while, but he did warm up to Gideon.

Grandma and Grandpa with two of their great grandkids.

Grandma Marlene hung up the big boy swing.  He enjoyed napping in it while blowing bubbles!

10 weeks old

GX is 10 weeks old today!  How does the time fly.  I've been an emotional wreck lately.

Yesterday, Jeremiah and I went to see the Avengers (sort as our monthly outing and for mother's day).  Anyway, the movie was really good!  Really really reallly good!   I think we had a good time.    When we got home my mom (who was babysitting) showed me consecutive pictures of Gideon ROLLING OVER!  Now, he only rolled from tummy to back, but still he did it!    I think this link HERE should give you a video of it.

Below is a picture of him holding his head up like a champ!  He also went 10 hours in between feedings last night to this morning.  Our baby is growing up wayy too fast.  But I love it just the same.

Sorry it's blurry, he was moving and doesn't care for the bright flash.  He's still so perfect and cute!

Quick Report:

Gideon is 9.5 weeks old.  Growing growing growing.  At his 2 month check up he was 13 pounds and 23 inches.  He's just absolutely as perfect as perfect can get.  I'm trying to learn to be the best mother ever.  Right now, what's best is that I set my competitiveness nature aside and ALWAYS ALWAYS remember that ALL babies are different.  Even though Gideon doesn't sleep through night (he does do some prolonged hours).  I have a baby that can sleep anywhere, he's a good eater (and burper)  he talks ALL of the time and I can tell he's going to learn sign language really fast (great eye contact and watches my hands constantly when we are speaking).    He is special and Jeremiah and I love him for being him.

Megan - hey that's me! I'm working out as much as I can.  Being a stay at home gives me the chance to lose all of my baby weight before I go back to teaching in August.  Or working another job.  I hope that this week is the week that brings me good news on the job front. All with time.  And everyone knows that I am NOT a very patient person.  But I am doing good at working out and taking Gideon for walks.  Today I rant 2 miles in 30 minutes... not bad at all!  I'm doing the couch to 5k program - and I can see myself getting "addicted" to running/working out (which is not a bad thing).  The weight is slowly coming off, but I know that I can do it!  My mantra is:  For God, For Jeremiah, For Gideon and For Myself.  Those are my reasons to run!  To treat my body like the temple it was intended, to be the beautiful wife my husband married (and sees even when I don't see her), so I can live long and be active with my son, and so I can be happy with myself!

Jeremiah has been working at Walgreens.  He also is looking into a job on campus for an IT position.  It's nice having him back at work taking the financial stress off of us (although I'm sure I'll still worry, it's my nature).  I can't wait for him to start school and pray that he really enjoys it.    He's still playing magic with his buds, spends time with Gideon and plays music when he can.

Our family is doing great.  We all have our weaknesses and our strengths.  Just keep us in your thoughts and prayers.  Much love!

Two Months Old!

Here is Mister Gideon!  He is two months old (and a few hours) here!  =]   We couldn't get him to smile much because he was tired and ready for his nap.  But even without a smile he's still precious as can be.  I want to thank my mom, Grandma Marlene, for helping take these pictures...even if I did get snippy with her!

Today we are going to go get his shots at his two month check-up.  I do not look forward to it at all!  Poor guy.

Other news:  Jeremiah luckily found a part time job and SHOULD start next week!  It will be back at Walgreens.  He is also enrolled full-time for this summer and for next semester.

I am still on the job hunt for a teaching position.  I am very disappointed in the fact that I haven't found anything yet.  But all with time, all with time!  Just keep praying for our little family.

Hope everyone enjoys the start of May!  I am still trying to work out as much as possible and lose all of that baby weight.  It is for sure a slow process, but I know that I can do it.  Yesterday, even though my bum knee was hurting me, I still ran/jogged 1.5 miles while Gideon cheered me on.  It was too cute!

Well, he's awake from his nap.  It's time to eat and get ready for his doctor's appointment!  Have a great weekend everyone!  Love you all!
