End of April!

Gideon is almost two months old (here in a few days).  I can not believe how the time has just gone by so quickly.      I remember parents always saying to cherish it for it will be gone with a blink of an eye.  But I had no idea!   Thursday we go to get his two month shots.  I'm not really looking forward to it.    But luckily, because Jeremiah doesn't have a job (right now) he gets to go with us!  

So, update.   Yes, Jeremiah quit his job.  But he seems to be so much happier for it.  He has officially enrolled full time for summer and fall college classes.  He's also applied to several places for part-time work.   He has an interview tomorrow, and hopefully that goes well.   For me - well I've been subbing the past few days (every bit of money helps that's for sure!).   Subbing has been good because it made me realize how much I've missed teaching and the fact that I picked the right career.  I haven't had much luck with the teaching jobs for next year though.  There is still an application out that I'm waiting to hear back about an interview.   He said I came highly recommended; that's good!  

I just hope that we get something soon.  We have money saved up, but I don't want to totally deplete that.  But we are parents, two non-working parents.  Hahaha, real responsible!  Kidding!  I know that there is a plan out there for us.  We just have to be patient.   

Oh!  I'm trying to lose baby weight.  I think I've lost another five pounds.  My goal is just two pounds a week!  I'm using some apps on my phone to help keep me accountable.  So wish me luck!

Gideon and I - around five am - the boy likes to eat at all times if possible.  He is starting to sleep 4 to 5 hours at night though now.  So hopefully this next month he'll get a long nights rest (and mommy/daddy will too!)

Daddy and Gideon.  Now, don't get any crazy ideas.  Gideon doesn't normally sleep with us.  It just happened that this was a day that I had an interview at 7:30 am and Jeremiah was going to watch him.  Plus, its hard not to cuddle from time to time.  

Third thursday/Art walk in April.  Naturally he was pretty passed out.  Love it! 

So one day during his nap I went to check on him.  He wiggled his way to the side of his bed (head up against rails) and arm sticking out.  

Playing can be really hard and tiring!  PS that is one of my FAVORITE shirts.  It's pirate themed!

Gideon's Great-Grandma was having her 60th birthday party.  It was hippie themed and everyone dressed up.  Including Gideon!  

Late one night while Jeremiah took care of Gideon so I could go to bed early in preparation to sub in the morning.  I can see so much love for his daddy in those eyes. 

Gideon is growing...

Our precious bundle of joy is growing and growing and growing.  Last week he weighed in at 10lbs 10ounces and 21.5 inches long!!    His two month check up is in about two weeks!  I can't believe how fast they grow.    He's been a little bit sick the past few days which is sad.  I hate having to suck snot out of his nose on a regular basis.

Jeremiah quit his job at NCO and is going to work part time and go back to school.  I've very happy for him, but a little nervous about money.  But I know we will be okay!  I have full faith in God that he will take care of us and provide for us.

I have an interview tomorrow, so I need all the prayers that I can get.   This would help with my stress level.  I've also been a little bit depressed/down/disappointed about my baby weight that I'm still carrying around.  Gideon is almost 7 weeks old, yet I have not lost any more weight since he was born.  I am in my second week of couch to five k.... and this week I'm watching my calories.

I just need to be happy!  I have my baby boy and a loving husband who wants to better himself.

That smile just melts my heart.

A few Early Easter Pictures

These are a few of Gideon's Pre-Easter pictures.  These are just some of my favorites that I wanted to share.  This weekend Jeremiah is going to Iowa for a tournament so I'm going to spend time with friends and then go stay at my parents (Gideon's first over night at the Grands).

one month old!

Gideon turned one month old yesterday!  I can hardly believe that our little man has been on this earth for a month!  Where does the time go?!?!  As you can tell from my positiveness he is doing much better.  We came home from the hospital late Monday night!    We constantly have to suck snot out of his nose to help him breathe.  But that was a week ago.  Every day he is doing better and better.  

Thank you to all of you who prayed and supported us.  I will never forget the pain and emotions I felt as a mother watching my son struggle to breathe.  I am thankful for everyone that is in his life.  

We are slowly figuring each other out and finding a routine of events.   Between the BabyWise book, the mommy facebook group, and What to Expect The First Years we are learning.  It's so funny because every baby IS different and everyone has such DIFFERENT opinions/advice.    But if I know one thing for sure, it is the fact that Gideon is LOVED!  

I know I haven't been very good with posting pictures.  Gideon keeps us pretty busy and on our toes!  I finally found time to upload some more (even if they are a bit old).   

Also, I had a job interview today!  Hopefully it goes well, and we will know more come Friday!  

Below:  The next two pictures are from Third Thursday, or the Art Walk in down town Joplin.  We went with our friends the Gills!  It was a lot of fun and probably what you'd consider Gideon's first outing.    Jeremiah is a bit funny in this....is he trying to eat our little guy?  

Below: This is Gideon on March 30th  (four weeks old) at Grandma and Grandpa Payne's house.  It was his first visit.  He seemed to enjoy the swing (even if it is a bit old, hehehee).  

Below:  Here we are after a long day at the park!  We discovered the picnic tables are tricky.... poor guy hit his head.  He's moving way too much for me to contain him.  He was okay, ask Miss Bart.

Below:  TUMMY TIME!!  We are to do tummy time at least twice during the day.  Grandma loves this time and enjoys getting down there with him.  If you didn't know better, it looks as if they are sleeping! =]
