School has started!!!!

My dearest blog. How do I wish I could write novels on you, around you, with you. Thanks to my education and the program I am in, it will be a long while before I can do daily or even weekly post. Please realize that this does not mean we stopped our plans for Europe it just means that come December and January we will resume our friendship and start planning full force.

Sincerely,
Your travelers

Student and hostel phone cards: Many travel cards — such as the ISIC student identity card or the HI hostel membership card — also double as prepaid calling cards. Ask for details when you buy your card. memberships pay for themselves in 4 nights! get one!!!

Get the right card for money! http://www.ricksteves.com/plan/tips/moneytip.htm The bottom line. Here's the best formula for saving money as you travel: Pay for as much as possible with cash (use a bank that charges low rates for international ATM transactions, and withdraw large amounts at each transaction — keeping the cash safe in your money belt). When using a credit card, use a card with the lowest possible international fees, and make sure your transactions are charged in the local currency — not dollars. Then smile and enjoy your trip, feeling very clever for avoiding so much unnecessary expense.

Free things to do! http://goireland.about.com/od/dublincityandcounty/tp/dublin_free.htm this should be investigated more!

Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert

So far I'm only a third through the book. It's an excellent book. I feel very close to the author. How she feels about Italy; it makes me only long for my journey even more. I strongly recommend this book to anyone; even if you aren't a traveler.

Thoughts and Opinions.....

So, I was using this site to look at traveling and everything. I feel like if we skip over Germany we can spend more time in the locations we want to. Save a lot of travel time, maybe some money, and spend more time really getting to "feel" the culture.

Ideas... should we go more place, or see more things.... is it quanity or quality?

First Blog

WE ARE GOING TO EUROPE!!

Ireland, United Kingdom, France, Spain, and Italy will be our playgrounds. This site, while we are abroad will be for family to look and learn where we are at, keeping their "tabs." I also personally plan to use this blog to help keep information straight, post helpful links, and maybe find other travelers to ask silly questions too.

Off I go for now!
